Going to Mexico-Is it safe to buy cheaper birth control pills there and what are the regulations?
Except for narcotics, most prescription drugs are freely available from pharmacies without a prescription. Most international pharmaceutical companies are well represented in Mexico with international levels of quality control. The case of generic drugs is not as clear cut. There are pharmacies that sell exclusively generic drugs but the quality can vary depending who the manufacturer is.
If you speak Spanish, you could find out the manufacturer of the generic anticonceptives that are supplied by the IMSS (Social Security Institute) which is a Governmental Health System (they buy almost exclusively generic medicines for cost reasons) and then go to Generic Pharmacy to purchase them (IMSS will not sell them to you, they are exclusively for members)
