Mitigating Compound

How do you suggest convicted murderers are punished?

Execute them?????

By all means. So long as we know it's an emotional reaction of revenge, and not a rational response to an inhumanly savage act of violence which the killer's death can only compound, never mitigate.

Instead of execution, let them spend the rest of their sorry lives in prison...cleaning the city's sewers to earn their keep.

Now that will be a deterrent...without returning our supposedly civilised world to barbaric, medieval times.

This article made me cry...not just for Lee Gardner's victim (Burdell’s fiancée Donna Nu said the late lawyer would have opposed the execution), friends & family, but for every person waiting for his turn to die on death row.

Edit: Essex Moron, sadly, we have death by hanging here in India..
Edit: Very spooky Sweet Fish...some on here would say "Fools seldom differ"..
: )

I agree with you hard labour with no possibility of parole would be a fitting punishment for a convicted murderer, whose intention was to murder in a premeditated fashion.
