So, God created the Flood to cleanse the world of sin...how'd that work out?
So, God drowned almost every living thing on earth to cleanse humanity of sin right? Well being omniscient and all, shouldn't he have seen that wouldn't work and he'd have to do something else (like sending Jesus for example)? Why not just skip right to Jesus and not do the whole flood thing in the first place?
I guess what I'm trying to ask is...if God wanted to do Action A (flooding the earth) to create Situation B (a world free from man's sin) and then he does Action A and that does not lead to Situation B...doesn't that make him a failure in that aspect? Why go through all that brutality if it didn't even accomplish what he wanted it to?
About the same as his "covenant" with the Israelites worked out.
